Membership T&Cs
Balta Chill membership terms.
These terms apply to all Balta Chill monthly memberships.
The short version
- Memberships renew monthly with no joining fee or minimum term.
- Cancel any time before your next payment.
- Pause your membership free of charge.
- Member sessions can be used at peak and off-peak times.
- Sessions and guest passes reset on the first day of each calendar month and do not roll over.
1. Your membership
Your membership starts when we confirm your purchase. Your confirmation will show your membership, price, benefits and monthly payment date.
| Membership | Included each calendar month |
|---|---|
| Balta Basic | Two 90-minute sessions |
| Balta Boost | Four 90-minute sessions and one guest session |
| Balta Black Card | Unlimited 90-minute sessions and three guest sessions |
Your membership is personal to you and cannot be shared or transferred.
2. Sessions, guests and membership perks
Member sessions
Member sessions can be used at any time we are open, including peak times, subject to availability.
Your session allowance resets on the first day of each calendar month. Sessions must be used by the final day of that month and cannot be rolled over, exchanged for cash or transferred to someone else.
When you first join, your first allowance will be available from the date your membership begins until the end of that calendar month.
A three-hour Sauna Social uses two sessions. It is included within the Black Card's unlimited visits.
Unlimited membership means you can visit as often as you like while your membership is active, subject to availability and our normal booking rules.
Balta Boost guest session
- Balta Boost members receive one free 90-minute guest session per calendar month.
Balta Black Card guest sessions
- Balta Black Card members receive three free 90-minute guest sessions per calendar month.
Using guest sessions
You must attend with your guest. Guest sessions reset on the first day of each calendar month and must be used by the end of that month. They do not roll over and cannot be sold or exchanged.
Guests must be aged 16 or over and agree to our booking and safety rules.
Drinks, gifts and events
Where your membership includes a complimentary drink, this means one drink for you on each sauna visit you book and attend, with a maximum of one complimentary alcoholic drink per day.
Alcohol is only available to members aged 18 or over, is subject to Challenge 25 and must not be taken into the sauna. We may refuse alcohol where serving it would be unsafe or unlawful. A non-alcoholic alternative will always be available.
Welcome gifts are provided once per person for each membership plan. Colours, sizes and exact products are subject to availability.
Members-only events may occasionally have an additional charge, which will always be made clear before booking.
3. Booking and cancelling visits
Membership does not guarantee availability, so we recommend booking ahead.
You can cancel or move a session up to 24 hours before it begins. Your session or guest pass will then be returned to your account, provided it is still within the same calendar month.
If you cancel less than 24 hours beforehand or do not attend, the session or guest pass will be treated as used.
For Black Card members, repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in advance bookings being restricted. We will contact you before applying any restriction.
If we cancel your session, we will return or extend it so that you do not lose it.
4. Payments, changes and cancellation
Memberships are paid monthly in advance and renew automatically on the same date each month. Your payment date may be different from the date your monthly sessions reset. All prices include VAT.
You can put a Balta Chill gift card towards your membership. Our gift card terms explain how, and what happens to any money you get back if you cancel.
If a payment fails, we may try to take it again and will contact you. Your membership benefits may be paused until payment is made. We do not charge late-payment fees.
You can change membership plan by contacting us. The change will normally begin on your next payment date, at the price available for the new plan at that time.
There is no minimum membership period or cancellation fee. You can cancel at any time through your membership account, where available, or by emailing rachel@baltachill.co.uk.
If you cancel before your next payment is taken:
- no further payments will be taken; and
- you can continue using your membership until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Payments already taken are not normally refunded because you did not use all your sessions. This does not affect your cooling-off rights or other legal rights.
If you cancel and later rejoin, the membership price available at that time will apply.
Any promotional price or price guarantee will last for the period stated when you join.
5. Pausing your membership
You can pause your membership free of charge.
Request a pause through your membership account, where available, or email rachel@baltachill.co.uk before your next payment. We will confirm when your pause starts.
While paused:
- no payments will be taken;
- no sessions, guest passes or benefits will be added; and
- you will not be able to use the membership.
You can restart or cancel your membership at any time by contacting us. An agreed pause will not cause you to lose a promotional membership price.
6. Your cooling-off rights
Where you have a legal cooling-off right, you will normally have 14 days from the day after joining to change your mind.
To cancel during this period, email rachel@baltachill.co.uk with your name and the date you joined.
If you asked for your membership to start immediately and have already used it, we may deduct a proportionate amount for the membership supplied before cancellation, where legally permitted.
If you have received a physical welcome gift, we may ask you to return it. Any refund due will normally be made to your original payment method within 14 days.
7. Other important bits
We may occasionally change our standard prices or membership benefits to reflect changes in costs, taxes, legal requirements or the services included.
We will explain any change that materially affects you and give you at least 30 days' notice. If you do not want to continue, you can cancel before the change takes effect.
Our opening hours and timetable may occasionally change. If an extended closure materially prevents you from using your membership, we will offer an appropriate extension, credit, pause or refund.
Members and guests must follow our sauna, cold-plunge, booking and venue safety rules. We may refuse entry or end a membership following a serious or repeated safety breach, abusive or unlawful behaviour, fraudulent membership use or continued non-payment.
Members must be aged 16 or over. A membership for someone under 18 must be purchased or approved by their parent or guardian.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights or excludes any liability that cannot legally be excluded.
