Gift card T&Cs
Gift card terms.
The terms for buying, giving and spending a Balta Chill gift card.
These terms apply to every Balta Chill gift card. If you bought one, they apply to you, and if you were given one, they apply to you too. Anything you book with a gift card also follows our general terms and conditions, and a membership also follows our membership terms.
The short version
- A gift card holds a money value that you can spend on sessions, session packs, memberships, events and private hire.
- It is valid for 12 months from the day it was bought. The expiry date is on the gift card.
- You do not have to spend it all at once. Whatever is left stays on the card until it expires.
- Gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash.
- Changed your mind? You can have a full refund within 14 days of buying, as long as the gift card has not been used.
- Look after your code like cash. Anyone who has it can spend it.
1. Buying a gift card
Gift cards are sold online through our booking system. You choose the value when you buy, and the price you pay is the value that goes on the card.
Once we have taken payment, we email the gift card to the address you gave us. It shows the code, the value and the expiry date. You can forward it or print it for the person it is for. If it has not arrived within an hour, please check your spam folder, then email us.
A gift card cannot be bought using a discount code or another gift card.
2. Spending your gift card
| What you can spend it on | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Sessions and session packs | Enter your gift card code at checkout when you book online. |
| Memberships | Enter your code when you sign up online, and its value will go towards your membership. |
| Events | Enter your code at checkout when you book online. If an event is booked by email, send us your code and we will take it off the price. |
| Private hire | Send us your code when you enquire and we will take its value off your deposit or your balance. |
Gift cards cannot be used at the bar or café, or to buy another gift card.
A gift card holds a money value, not a particular session. It is worth the same amount whatever our prices are when you come to spend it, and our normal peak and off-peak prices apply. If a booking or membership costs more than the balance on your card, you can pay the difference another way.
You can use a gift card to pay for a booking that has a discount code applied.
Anything you book with a gift card follows our usual booking rules, including our age limits and health declaration. Please read our health and safety policy before your visit.
3. Your balance
You do not have to spend your gift card in one go. Whatever is left stays on the card, and you can keep using it until it expires. If you are not sure how much is left, email us and we will check for you.
We do not give change in cash, and a gift card balance does not earn interest.
4. Expiry
Gift cards are valid for 12 months from the day they were bought. The expiry date is shown on the gift card.
You need to book before your gift card expires, but the session or event you book can be after the expiry date.
Once a gift card has expired, any balance left on it can no longer be used. If yours has expired, or is about to, please get in touch. We may be able to extend it, but we cannot promise to.
5. Refunds and cancellations
Changing your mind
You can cancel a gift card within 14 days of buying it for a full refund, as long as none of it has been used. Email us to do this. The refund goes back to the person who bought the gift card, using the payment method they paid with.
After those 14 days, gift cards cannot be refunded or exchanged for cash.
If you cancel a booking or membership
If you cancel or move a booking you paid for with a gift card, our normal cancellation rules apply. If you cancel a membership you paid for with a gift card, our membership terms apply. Where a refund is due, the amount you paid with the gift card goes back onto the gift card rather than being paid out in cash. The gift card keeps its original expiry date.
If you paid for part of a booking or membership by another method, that part is refunded to the method you used.
If we cancel a booking
If we have to cancel or move a booking you paid for with a gift card, we will offer you another date or put the value back onto your gift card, whichever you prefer. If your gift card has expired by then, or is about to, we will extend it so you have time to use it.
6. Lost, stolen or misused gift cards
Please treat your gift card code like cash. Anyone who has the code can spend it, and we cannot tell who is using it.
If you lose the email, get in touch with the name and email address used to buy the gift card. We will look it up and send it again. We cannot replace or refund a balance that someone else has already spent, unless that happened because of a mistake on our part.
We may cancel a gift card, or refuse to accept it, if we reasonably believe it was bought or obtained fraudulently.
7. Giving a gift card to someone else
Gift cards are meant to be given away. Anyone can use one, not just the person who bought it.
Please do not sell gift cards on, or offer them as a prize or in a promotion, without our written permission.
8. Your rights
Our general terms and conditions set out our responsibility to you and what to do if something goes wrong. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your gift card are the ones published on the day it was bought. The date at the top shows when this page was last changed.
